This command removes all unattached vertices --- i.e., any vertex that is not associated with a face.
What it actually does is to banish all lone vertices from the field of view by ‘sending them to heaven’ --- i.e., giving them a very large Y value. This is done to prevent changes to the numbering of the remaining vertices (Lone vertices at the end of the vertex array are fully deleted). Banished vertices can still be seen in the Data View of the current project, where the large number of zeros in their Y values makes them obvious.
If renumbering all the remaining vertices is not a problem, you can use the Renumber Vertices command to fully delete all banished vertices.
