_bm3     Limits

Top  Previous  Next

Ligno3D Designer is a very agile program with rapid responses to user inputs.  Any tendency to evolve into ‘bloatware’ has been resisted, and there are limits to the complexity of objects that can be designed.  Users are unlikely to run into these limits when using the program for its intended purposes.  However, repeated use of commands like ‘Quadration’ will quickly find these limits.  When reached, message boxes announce the limits, allowing you to back out gracefully.

Vertices:                Projects can have up to 9998 vertices.

Faces:                        Projects can have up to 9998 triangular faces, fewer if more sides.

Components:                Projects can have up to 998 components.

Textures:                Projects can have up to 32 textures loaded at one time.

Undos:                        The worst case for large projects is one undo, but normally hundreds.

Selection:                Up to 9999 vertices, edges and faces can be selected at one time.

Copy Vertices:        Up to 998 vertices can be copied and pasted via the paste buffer.

Copy Faces:                Up to 998 triangular faces can be copied and pasted via the paste buffer.

Reverse Faces:        The facing of faces with 999 vertices, or fewer, can be reversed,

Rotation:                Rotation axes and objects of rotation can have up to 64 steps.

Truncation:                Faces created by truncation can have a maximum of 200 vertices.

Chamfering:                Chamfering can occur if 4999, or fewer, new vertices are created.

Hidden Edges:        In Wireframe Presentation mode, up to 1998 edges can be hidden.
