By default the Select Toolbar is positioned along the top edge of the window, to the right.  The toolbar may be floated and repositioned anywhere on the screen by clicking and dragging the gripper bar at the left end of the menu.  When floated it can be reshaped like a window.

To hide or display the Toolbar, choose ‘Select Toolbar’ in the View menu.  A check mark appears next to the menu item when the toolbar is displayed.
