This command turns the Center of Symmetry on and off in L3DD’s 3D view. A red diamond at the origin and a check mark next to the menu item indicate an active center of symmetry.
The center of symmetry (a concept borrowed from crystallography) projects faces and vertices as if there was a pinhole lens at the origin. In the above illustration, the house has been shrunk, moved into the NE quadrant, selected, and then projected through the pinhole by using the Apply Now! command at the end of the Symmetry menu. The house projects into the SW quadrant, upside down and facing to the rear.
With an active center of symmetry all new vertices and faces are projected as soon as they are created. If vertices and faces are moved or deleted, that too is projected by the center of symmetry.
