_bm3      Undo command (Edit menu)

Top

This command acts as a ‘step backwards’ command, reversing previous editing actions.  For example, a face that has just been moved can be moved back again to its original position.  Or a group of faces just deleted can be ‘undeleted’.  The button becomes greyed out and inoperative when no further undos are possible.  Undo actions can themselves be reversed with the Redo command.

When chaos occurs, as sometimes happens when a tool is used inappropriately, the Undo command restores sanity.  The command also affects color or dιcor changes, but does not affect orientation, projection mode, viewing distances, or the display of face numbers, vertex handles, axes, etc.

For small projects, with less than 100 faces, the undo command is virtually unlimited.  For large projects with thousands of faces -- such as ‘GreekTemple.lig’ -- the undo command can only be used a few times before the limit of undo is encountered.  The undo buffers are exactly twice the size of the vertex and face arrays, so an object approaching the limit of 9998 vertices or face rows can only be undone and redone once.
