Demonstration Mode is in effect whenever Ligno3D Designer is run without an activation file. This mode allows you to explore all aspects of the program. However, a few critical functions will work only with some of the examples that are supplied with the program. These examples include all objects from the Object Menu and the project files CubbyHouse.lig, Soccerhead.lig and GreekTemple.lig.
Example objects, such as the ‘House’ with which L3DD opens, function fully in Plan View and their plans can be printed. They can also be saved to .LIG, .STL, DXF and .BMP files, and all distances and angles can be measured in their 3D Views. Vertices and faces can generally be moved and deleted without affecting functionality. Following the addition or renumbering of faces, however, the adjacent message box appears if you try to use the above functions.
This message also appears if you try to use these functions on objects other than the supplied example objects. You can edit any object to your hearts content, but you cannot save it, view its plans or make measurements in the 3D View. The same applies to new objects created from scratch. Attempts to measure radii, distances or angles in the 3D view result in the message ‘Demo Mode’ appearing in the rightmost pane of the Status Bar.

Demonstration Mode can thus demonstrate all of L3DD’s functions, but for serious use you need to purchase an Activation File, which converts Ligno3D Designer to Full Mode and gives it a Serial Number. Full Mode has no restrictions. The activation file (‘L3DDactivate.rtf’) must reside in the same folder as Ligno3D Designer’s program file (‘Ligno.exe’) -- usually in ‘C:\Program Files\Ligno3D Systems\Ligno3D Designer\’.
You are free to copy the program file to anyone, but copying the activation file to other parties contravenes copyright and the license agreement included in the activation file. You may, however, keep copies of the activation file for backup purposes
